I got an unexpected bonus at work and it's buring a hole in my pocket. I think I will buy a new rod this weekend at the LL Bean fishing event in Freeport. I want to do some test-casting of their rods. I bought a nice reel over the winter and now I need a nice rod to put it on.

Russ LL.Bean has some nice rods and affordable to . I have had one of their rods now for 29 years . The LL.Bean guide series 7wt . Cast like a dream on big water. Let me know if you get one, . Orvis and Sage have some nice rods as well. Take your time and test them all. Make sure you are happy with your choice

I picked up a nice 5wt 9foot Streamlight 4 piece at Bean. Can't wait to get it wet. Also got some new line and backing for some other reels. The small ponds are calling my name.

Do you get a New Hampshire license by any chance, if so I know of a pond that is a blast to fish when the pond season opens in NH. Let me know and maybe we can get together and fish it, wading is the best way.
