Thanks Lee I'm checking it out now.
Hi Caddis
I guess it is time to put my 2 cents worth in...I realize you said books for salmon flies.
But there are other alternatives.. I would suggest where that you are looking for newer,
hair wing patterns that you peruse this site ATLANTIC_SALMON_STEP_BY_STEP_FLIES
There should be enough there to keep you tying till Spring.
i would also strongly urge you to go to internet archive (just Google it) When you get there
select books...Search for "artificial flies" and download "how to tie salmon flies" by Captain Hale.
If you can't find it there then you can also find it in the downloads section of my site. I realize it deals
with only classics, but getting a proper grounding on tying methods is a great help...I wish I had
access to it when I started tying.
My last bit of advice for now is to get yourself a bottle of "Sally Hansen" clear fingernail polish and
use it to make sure every hair is well glued on. Tying on a hair wing fly and having the body in one hand and
the wing in the other is not a good start to any fishing day.

Thanks so much Stephen for the tips. I've been on your site many times but I had no idea that you could have all that info at the click of a button. I think I have enough to keep me busy for quite some time. Thanks again, Bill.
Stephen
That is a great site, I will add a link in the links page for it. Thanks for the info.

Flies for Atlantic Salmon by Stewart & Allen is a great reference and there are all sorts of online reference sites Nova Scotia Fly Guy Forum has some of the best salmon fly tiers in the world on it and has tutorials. I have to get around to getting back to the bench here soon myself.
Mike I edited the link and also I have added this link to the main site Nova Scotia Fly Guy You can go to the Forum from here as well.
I will also add this to the links page.
Thanks
Lee

Thanks Mike I put the fly guy site in my saved and I already ordered the book.
Anyone care to make a recommendation for a great book on tying flies for Atlantic Salmon? Paterns and how to, step by step is what I'm after. Fishing flies, not much need for framed flies, nice to look at for sure but I'm after working flies. Thanks in advance.
