What is the smallest fly you have ever tied and fished ? I have tied size 24's and have landed fish over 20 inches with them.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

i really dont have a problem with that unless there is head cement in the way and I dont realize it..... Laughing Out Loud but when tying them that small especially griffins gnats the hackle is a real pain in the butt...

I know my damn hackle keeps slipping or I cover the eye.

Dave I think #16 is the smallest I ever tried to tie (trout dry fly) now I usually tie a 1/2 doz #12 mayflies every spring and thats about my tolerance level for small flies.

I have tied a few #16 trout flies(dry). but my normal range
usually bottoms out at a #12..If the eye of the hook won't
accept my 8 pound test maxima leader, then the fly is too
small...I am a firm believer in the 'big fly=big fish" thing. Big Grin

I guess what you two fish for there wouldnt be much need for small flies. Here I have to match allot of midge hactches so I had to adapt my fly tying skills. Just my eyes aint what they used to be Big Grin
