Ok guys,  I'm looking for a small pond in southern Maine to fish for trout and salmon, maybe smallies.  I know about Kennebec Pond.  Any others????

Russ

The only pond that comes to mind is Spicer Pond in Shaplegh.  It has a wild population of trout in it and is small and shallow.  Walk in pond, about a mile or so.  If you want directions just ask.

Thanks

Lee

Lee, thanks for the info.  However you said it was a walk in pond.  I hate walk in ponds Laughing Out Loud  I'm too old to be lugging all my stuff a mile into a place then have to carry it all back out.

How about Swan Pond in Lyman?  It looks interesting.

Lee, how about Wilson Pond over by you?  It says it's a nice pond with some good fishing.  I'm looking for a smallish pond where I can either float tube or kayak for trout and whatever else bites.

Wilson is a very nice small lake.  It is just south of Great East Lake and east of Horn Pond which is a boarder Lake.  They stock Wilson with lots of Brown Trout.  There is an easy access at the north side of the pond, the outlet is there and flows over to Horn Pond.  If you plan to fish that pond let me know, I am about 6 to 7 miles from it, we live on the north side of Great East lake.  Do you have a DeLorme Book, you can get to the pond from Rt 109 out of Sanford.

Let me know what you are going to do and maybe we can hook up.

Thanks

Lee

Lee,  Thanks for the info.  My fishing buddy and I are always looking for nice small ponds to wet our flies.  I haven't fished with him at all this year.  If we head down your way, I'll let you know.  You are always welcome to join us anytime.

Russ

How are the lakes looking down south?  I am itching to get my tube/kayak on the water.

I'm on call this week and weekend but maybe next weekend.   My wife will be out of town and it will be a good time to head south.  I'll be in touch.
