Hi Paul
Looks like you guys had a great time on the river. I would think an 8 wt. rod would be best out there. 7 wt. will make life with a good fish on interesting though. What do you think of the new editor for the forum?? You know you can place a photo from your album in the forum by using the "Media Gallery Auto Tag", forth from the left on the second row above. You can then put a title on the picture and also resize for the forum very easy. If the video's you are talking about are bigger then 8 megs you may need to send them to me so I can load them in your album for you. Let me know!!!??? Or post them on You Tube and embed them in the forum post or a story post. Fifth icon from the left on the second row above.
Well done Paul
Lee
Nice , Very Nice . Glad to see someone wetting a line and catching fish. Nice Pictures to.
Paul glad you had a good time. Before I went to the two hander my rod of choice was a 10' , 6 weight, and with the low water and not much chance of things getting any better next time up that might just be the way to go.
Nice photos and nice fish...Makes me extremely jealous where the fishing season
is closed here as well as most water is beginning to freeze solid. I will have to content
myself with the photos of others catching fish and dream about the coming season.
I trust you recognize the note of jealousy in this post..
Sorry for the delay. I've been waiting on the pictures from my buddy. I didn't want to post a report without any pics (boring). He has some videos he working on and I'll post those later.
The trip was great! Everyone hooked up at different times through out the weekend and everyone caught at least one fish. We fished the lower fly zone on Friday and Mark was the high stick and landed this nice chrome hen. Mark was very happy he's been out 3 times and never even hooked up.
I had three hook ups and lost all of them
Saturday we went to the Douglaston Salmon Run and fished a couple different pools. Again we all got into fish. I was only able to land one small rainbow.
I was using a 9wt which I now realize was overkill with a 4lb tippet. The tip must have been too stiff and was breaking off fish. I used 6, 8, 10 lb tippet and the fish wouldn't touch any flies unless it was 4. Here's some more pics from Saturday and Sunday. I might be going back out again this weekend. I'm jonesing to land a big steelhead
I'll be taking my 7wt on this trip!
This was Kevin's first trip and first steelhead. What a beauty!
A fresh chromer from the lake. This guy jumped at least 5 times and took off like a freight train. Video coming soon!
