Hi All
Sure must be....Web site activity seems to have slowed to
a crawl. Maybe it is the heat. And maybe everyone in the
East is hunkered down waiting for Hurricane Bill. For me,
I seem to have entered a cycle of eat, putter and sleep.
Sincerely hope all members are still in the original upright
position and doing well.

Stephen

Very good post. Yes it is the dog days and hot. Today is a little more comfortable with lower dew points and humidity. Need to get things done this weekend, next weekend will get out fishing somewhere. I need to try my new 6'6" 4 wt glass rod that Bill Franke built for me. It is a very slow action rod but should be a ball on the little brook trout of the mountain streams that i love to fish. If all goes well I will have pictures and a story to post in about a week and half.

I am still upright as Stephen asked and seem to be doing fine. As far as eating is concerned I am trying to lose a little weight if I can so I am trying to be very careful what I snack on, mostly fruit.

See Yah

Hey guy's I have been on a inventory all week and by the time I get home from work I am pretty much beat. Getting up at 3:45 AM for the last week and off around 5 PM . Good news inventory is done and I am off for the next 3 days . As far as dog days I can say our August here in Rapid City has to be the coolest I have been through . We have yet to go tripple digits the last couple of days we didnt even break 70 . I think today is the warmest might have got to 80 not sure. We have some warmer weather predicted for the weekend think mid or low 90s.

I to am still standing . My feet hurt but I am still kicking. Hope to fish some this weekend . I will watch the weather . Dave V

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Everything is fine here in Nova Scotia as well. I've been on "forced vacation" all week because of the heat and humidity here. Just to darn hot to do anything on the farm. I've been spending a couple of hours a day at the fly bench but other than that not doing much but enjoying cold drinks. Hurricane Bill is getting ready to strike us on Sunday so if his effects sweep through the valley it could reek havoc on the apple crop which would mean an early end to the work year, may get a little more fishing in before the hunting season if thats the case...hahahahaha.....Everyone play safe Wink

Mike I hope that Bill takes it easy on you folks up there! Everything here has slowed to a stand still. Streams are way down, water is way warm, and I've been way to busy to think about tight lines! I think I may take a little time away from the rod and hit it again while scouting for them ol' bucks! Good luck to anyone else that heads out.

My oh my Mike. We have kept busy haven't we. Nice to
see that hurricane Bill did not blow all your feathers away.
Nice flies. What specific material are you using for the
green butt? i.e. the white tail green machine in the last photo.

I use rabbit fur Stephen. Moves better in the water and I seem to get more hook ups with it.
The storm was pretty much a rain thing here in the Annapolis Valley, it was all over by 2pm and the sun was out.

Mike

What is the name of the fly in the second photo. That can be a hot fly in the spring some years.

Thanks
Lee
