Nice looking trout. Glad you managed to get out for a few hours.
I must try that myself next week for a day.
Beautiful fish Dave, makes it all worth while huh. Hey Dave why so few bikers when I was out there it was wall to wall.
Thanks guy's . It was a blast just getting out. Caddis as for the bikers its wall to wall in town and in Sturgis. I think they said they had twice as many bikers this year then last year. Hey Caddis when were you out here. Dave V

Thanks Mike. I can't wait to get out again . Working all the time is no where as much fun. Its been an unusal August. It has been allot cooler then normal. Rainning today had a couple of doozy thunderstorms Friday night. Baseball size hail in Sturgis. Broke lots of windows and a biker chick got hit in the back of the head. She was taken to the hospital don't know much more then that. We had a down pour last night around 6pm. Its good to see mositure in August I havent been able to say rain in August in allot of years. . Oh by the way guy's I sold a snowblower the other day. Thats two now. I think people are worried that this could be a wet winter also.. Well got to get ready for work I close again tonight . I open tommorow. Later Dave V
Great post Dave, and yes I certainly know what fly you are talking about. Good looking fish. I hope to soon show one of my own with your fly. Things here this past weekend were slow. Tried as I might did not have much success but small buggers. Its like the would not leave it alone and let the bigger ones have a chance.

Well I got the chance to do some fishing today . Woke up darn early this morning the sky was bright orange in the east and still dark in the west. . I put on the kettle and brewed me up a nice hot cup of tea.Turned on the tv to ESPN to get the final score of the Sox-Yankee game. Should not have done that.
Put a few slices of bread in toaster and dug out the cream cheese. After finishing my quick breakfest. I gathered up my gear the loyal dog and the camera. It was a nice drive trhough town. The bikers not out yet and the air was calm not a sound other then my radio. A few deer managed to make my drive through the hills a bit more scary then should have but all an all it was a nice beautiful drive to my favorite fishing spot. As I drove down the winding dirt road not a care in the world. Relaxed is I was feeling. Not one thought of work crossed my mind. As I got closier to my destination thoughts of how I whould fish the stream were going through my head. How many other fisherman would be there ? How were the flows ? Would the wind pick up ? How much pressure did these fish have over the last month or so ? Not a soul can you believe it not another soul on the stream the parking lot nor along the road. Just me and the dog. I jumped out of the truck let the dog loose and put on my waders. I rigged up a bead head nymph I headed to the path that led to the stream . It had been allot longer then I thought sense I last walked the path because now the growth of weeds and brush were over my head. Last time I was there they were at my ankles. I managed to plow through the over growth with out much trouble but let me tell you rattle snakes were running through my thoughts at an alarming rate.
I sure didnt want to step on one of them puppies let me tell you. Well I arrive at the foot bridge stopped and amired the veiw for a while and proceeded to the streams edge and began to cast like a mad man. I fished my heart out but couldnt even get a trout to folllow my offerings. Just when I was about to give up my eyes caught just a glimpse of a rise just up ahead of me. I walked slowly to within casting distance, I made a few cast but nothing. I decided to go with my fly I have the most faith in, Scott you know the ones I am talking about. Bang first cast. Picture to come . Nice little spotted rainbow, I decided it was getting to warm for the fish and the old dog so I packed up and drove home. On the ride back to town I counted 297 bikers . Dave V
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
