Ever since Florida Power and Light took over control of the dams they have done a terrible job of controling water. They fill the lake to fast in the spring and then if we get a little rain they have to dump water, which is what they did this last weekend. In my oppinion there is no need for it. They run 400 cfs all spring and fill the lake when they should be running around 600 to 800 cfs in the spring (Total mismanagement if you ask me). The salmon for the most part are wild in that river, sometimes fish pass through the dam that are stocked in Richardson Lake. Not sure what he caught them on, they were small, around 8 to 9 inches. I saw one fish I hooked down deep in the run and it looked to be around 14 to 16 inches. The other I have no idea.

Thats to bad Lee , why is it that Maine continues to sell al their property and mills to over seas or out sate business . Sad if you ask me.
Does anyone have some recommended fly patterns for the Rapid?
Lazer
Be aware that a Hendrikson hatch should occur there soon, other wise use small nymphs.

Hi All
Went fishing on Thursday with Bill Franke, (Mr. Onepfoot) to the Rapid River and we sure did hit it under very poor conditions. It was windy all day and the river flow was jacked up to 1600 cfs which makes for very hard fishing. Bill caught some small Salmon and I had two fish on but lost both. Had several other good hits but no other hook ups.
