Hi All

Good question that I saw on another board and thought it would go well over here.

Myself I use what ever is on sale at the time. I don't do much in the way on maintainence on my fly lines so they last about three years for me. I have learned one trick with my 4wt DT line. On the reel and the rod I am using half the line works just fine so I now have a spare in the second half that I can replace the first half with when it is worn out.

I use a Cortland 444 or 555 weight forward #8 line. Dress it
once or twice a year and they will last a long time.

I use a 8,9,10 rio Spey multi tip, a 8wf airflo multi tip, a SA 8WF floating, a 6WF cortland444 and a Orvis 7 Spey multi tip. As you can see I am a loyal brand follower. Also a nut to have so many rods and lines.

Lee I use Rio and Cortland. I have also used Orivs Wonderline. All WF lines. To me they all perform about the same. Todays lines seam to be pretty close in performance Except for the really cheap lines that is. Dave V

cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
