Hey guy's I just opened the door and it feels like mid 50's no wind . I think Its time for me to head out and make a few early spring cast. I will let you know how it works out. My sholder is already sore so I don't think I will be out long. Reports later in the day. Dave V

PS I hope all you folks have a great day.

Folks I am back from a short trip. Mr Caddis I brought the camera but didnt take a single shot. Ok his is my breif report. The temps were fine might of fact quite nice in the lower 50's not really sure. Felt warm though. Wind was not a factor at first . When I got there the winds were about 5-10 miles an hour quite calm for up in the hills. The sky partly cloudy . As I drove down the dirt road to the parking area there was only one truck in front of me not another soul. He went left at the fork and I right. I was glad of that I like the second stretch better anyway. As I drove closier to my destination I did notice the stream was quite a bit down from normal. Then I remembered the work on the lake they are doing down stream . Dang it my reply. As I drove to the parking area looking up I saw three Bald Eagles flying above the stream. Pretty cool I thought to myself.
I parked the truck unloaded the dog.and rigged up. I felt the warm sun on my face and gave out a smile because it felt so dang good. I walked the path which still had patches of ice so I had to be careful of my footing. As I came to the water I then relized how low the water really was. I was kind of shocked to tell the truth. Now I know why the Eagles were flying above the stream . Lets say they must have had easy pickings.
Well I made a few cast and it wasnt long before I had landed a brown trout that if I would have posted a picture of the folks up north of the border would never have let me down. I continued down stream and managed to hook and land several more fish about the same size. My question was where did all the bigger fish go. The fact is I only got a glimpse of one Brown Trout over 16 inches. I was a little disapointed. Worried on the other hand. Them Eagles werent so cool anymore.I fished about another 1/2 hour and the wind began to come up .I figure about 20 miles an hour or more. So I worked my way back to the truck I managed another Brown about the same size as all the rest. I am still wondering what happened to the biggger fish. Maybe they are hold up somewhere furtur down stream in a deeper hole. At least I hope that is where they are. Maybe when the water levels come back up they will show up. Although I didnt hook a monster It sure beats staying home ans it is a heck of allot better then looking at 15 inches of snow and ice. Thats my report Dave V

It just ain't right.....Nobody should be enjoying warm weather
and fly fishing While all I can do is look out the window at a
driveway full of snow.
