Guys

I almost forgot to post this fishing trip. Went fishing with my friend from Alabama on Monday and we had some fun together. We started by fishing the Rocky Branch River in Bartlett NH. First run we came to I cast the Elk hair Caddis over the run and sure enough there was a fish willing to take. Two more casts and I had him. It was a beautiful wild Brook Trout about 9 inches long and I was feeling like this was going to be a great day of fishing. Was I wrong about that. A weather front came through and the fishing was very slow from that point on in the Rocky Branch. My buddie from Alabama did not even start a fish and I managed only three other fish, landing only one about 6 inches. Brian also fell into the river when his walking stick (Branch from the woods) broke, he was OK but he did lose his eye glasses. From there we decided after lunch to go to the Wildcat River up Carter Notch road past the Eagle Mountain House. Fishing here was a little better as the day went on. Managed several fish at the first stop, all wild but small. Next we stopped at Mellon Road and managed several more fish and my friend from Alabama did catch two nice fish, one wild about 7 inches and one stocked about 8 inches. I managed one real nice stocked fish about 10 inches long and in full fall colors, was a male. We called it a day after fishing a short stretch at Mellon Road.

Pictures will come when my PC at home is fixed and I can dump the photo's from my camera.

Lee

P.S. Sorry to be so late with this.

Sounds like a real nice day Lee. Looking foward to those pictures. Them Brookies sure are pretty this time of year. . Now I got the fishing bug bad now. I will have to hike into castle creek and try for some fall brookies myself..Maybe I can talk the boss into letting me have my birthday off next week. ya right like that will ever happen Dave V

Poor guy I can feel his pain I have fallen in myself years back and my favortie sun glasses went down stream to. Makes for a great laugh for those who witness the specticle. I have to give him credit atleast he was willing to hit the stream again that day. Hey Lee you have any pictures of your freind Brian taking a closier look into the stream bed ? Big Grin Dave V

Glad you had a good day with your buddy. Dropping the glasses in the water brings back bad memories though. Grand Lake Stream about ten years ago in May about the third week if I'm not mistaken. My glasses in about 3 1/2 feet of water and the only way to get them was to get wet. Gave my rod and vest to a friend to hold and dove in. I think the saying is what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Thanks Dave. Headed to Pittsburg next Tuesday I'll try not to do the same to those poor fish.
