Well after 12 years my boots are falling apart and with the problem with rock snot and all I'm thinking of going to non-felt boots with studs. Flyfisherman Mag has an article on them Sept. issue and the Simms Rivershed studded aqua stealth look good, the price is hefty but I guess if I get 10 years out of them (made in USA not China) they should last. Any thoughts?

I have no personal experience with Simms but I hear good things when people talk about them. They are pricey but if they last then that will even out.

P.S. Caddis I am moving this to the Rods, Reels and Accessories Forum, more appropriate there.

Caddis you can't go wrong with the Simms boot, You could also Look at LLbeans boot they have a boot with a feltless sole which I have used for years. I got them when whirling desease was a becoming a big problem. I have seen a new boot worn by the trout bums all over the world. The cool thing about the boot is the sole is removable. For hiking over land and washing them and the sole is easy to put back on to fish.
