Hi All

Just a little fishing report from my trip to Hatch Pond in Eaton, NH. It was a wonderful evening to fish and the state had just stocked the pond a week before. I started the trip by stopping at the Eaton Village Store for a sandwich for supper and then off to the North Country Angler for some flies. I saw Janet at the shop and purchased a few flies for the fishing now and later in the spring. Janet informed me that Bill was down by First Bridge and I should stop and see him. So I did and he informed me that Hatch was HOT, they had stocked it and the fishing was good.

Hatch Pond Eaton, NH

We had to attend my Grandsons College Graduation in the morning in Portland ME at the Civic Center so I was only able to fish in the late afternoon and into the evening. But it was worth it because the fishing was spectacular for me.

Nice Brookie with a small Hornburg in his mouth

I started at around 3:45 or 4pm and fished until 7:20pm and I must have hooked and released at least 30 fish, most were 10 inches in size and a few were smaller.

This was a typical fish for the evening

There a few others fishing when I arrived and a couple more during my time on the pond. The two that were unexpected were two Loon's.

Two Loon's One Up and One Down

The Loon's stayed around about 15 minutes but did not seem to catch a fish while I watched them dive repeatedly around were I was fishing and having good luck.
The area of the pond that produced for me was the outlet area as seen in the last two pictures.

It was a beautiful evening to fish and I was very glad I was able to do so.

Lee

Sound like a good trip. Mr. Green How far of a drive is that from home?

Jake

It is only about 45 min from home, not a bad drive at all.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
