Guys,
Where are you headed for the first fishing trip of 2008- unless of course you're Dave who fishes all year round??
I just discovered a beautiful brook near the shop that is a likely candidate to hold some beautiful trout.
I think when all the snow has melted or at least enough that I don't have to worry about going up to my neck Eek! in the stuff that will be my first spot.

I generally do the 1st outing solo- good to get back into the wild with just you, fish (maybe) ,and the little critters of the forest chattering about what an idiot that guy looks like in those funny rubber pants. Mr. Green

Ok Mr Greatbay, Even though I get to fish here most of the year my first big trip is going to be a place I just found out about. Its in Wyoming six hours from here. Called the miracle mile . I hear that there trout over 16 pounds in the deep holes. I am going to my damdest to catch me one of those fish. For reasons I don't have to explain Mr. Green

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Not sure where or when my first trip is going to be. Trout opens here on 1st April but I have to wait til oru move gets settled out before I think about fishing. I have big plans for salmon this year the LaHave, St Mary's, River John, River Philip and of course the annual Miramichi trip if schedules work out.

I usually go to Alton Bay on the big lake (Winnie) but I don't think this year it will be open by 1 April, so I may just wait until things open up around here in Acton Maine. May fish the Little Ossipee River or the Mousam River in Emery Mills.

The time is coming soon and I need to get my two licences (ME and NH) so I don' t miss any of the good fishing.

We had 100mm of rain Friday and Saturday and that took care of the rest of the snow. Hope its gone for the year!!! Things are pretty wet and muddy here now though!!! Neutral

We got lots of rain on Sat as well 2.5 inches or more, but the snow pack is still 3 feet and will need lots of sun to melt it.
