Spent a nice afternoon fishing the Sugar River on Monday, Oct 6. Figured I would get out while the water was there and before the rain. The stream was perfect, although a stiff breeze and an abundance of pine needles kept things from being TOO perfect. There is a nice wide trail/fire road that follows the river downstream from Newport, although river access isn't too easy. Anyway, caught one nice rainbow on a coppper john nymph. I will say he was conservatively 12'. Took one pic before he went back. Will try to attach.

Nice looking fish, I heard the Sugar was fishing well this year but I never did make it there.
