Another great day . Fished some new water . Slate Creek where it meets with upper Rapid Creek . Can I say absolutely beautiful.  It is along the Mickelson  trail  which used to be an railroad track now a bike trail. After a 1 to 2 mile walk Jay and I started fishing . The water was high for that area and a little stained . We have had a very wet spring so the water levels are up a bit . ( NOT COMPLAINING .)  The temps were a bit chilly when we first got there but torrierable . A bit breezy as well. Threat of  thunderstorms all day but we only had to take cover twice. Rain or should I say downpour only happened 3 times . The fishing was tough but we did manage to land a few fish . I landed 3 wild brookies and 7 wild browns  Jay landed 5 Browns . In them type of conditions we both felt we did good. . I caught all my fish on a CDC BWO Jay on a comparadun and Elk Hair Caddis .

One of Jays Browns

Dave

I must say that is a beautiful little stream and the fish look great.  I really like fishing water like that, much nicer then the big streams and rivers.  I hope to get sometime soon again myself.

Great Job Bud.

See Yah
Thanks

Sorry John I didnt take any pictures of the Brook Trout I caught . Guess I should have.  I plan on going out there again soon.  I promise to take a few pictures of the Brookies .  The ones I caught in this little stream tucked away in the hills were only 4 inches or so but worth a photo just the same. I will do them justice next time for sure. Dave V

Well bust my buttons they are Browns aren't they. Guess I just assumed brookies from a small New England stream.

That is a beautiful little river, Dave, reminds me of the rivers back home. Awesome wild trout, nothing better than that!!!! great job!

Thanks. Yes the scenery is quite beatiful and with the rain we had that month made everything green while creating some good flows for the trout . The temps have been mild but this week things are going to heat up .High 90's with the possibility of triple digits. Not my fav for fishing trout streams .
