I looked through previous posts and didn't see this.
What are you guys doing during the winter when some of us poor saps can't get out on a stream(Yes Dave V directed at you Laughing Out Loud )
I'm usually catching up on my reading, both fly and non fly and I play a ton of chess, I'm not that good but I've loved it ever since my Dad taught me when I was a kid.

We also do a lot of candlepin bowling as a family- kids love it and it keeps the family together one night out of the week so we can actually see our teenagers between jobs and school activities and yes dates Sad

So guys what keeps you nimble and young

Good question Dave G. Let me think I most likely will try and catch up on my unfinished remodeling this year.
I am going to throw an ice fishing tournement for all my nieces and nephews, complete with a plaque. Each year we wil all get together and have a blast. There will be ice skating, snow shoe races for the adults and lots of hot coco and hot dogs. Then of coarse try tying a bunch of flies for the spring fishing trip to the Bighorns. On those long cold winter nights I will read while I sit by the fire . I am looking forward to sitting by the fire snuggling up to the wife. I will be doing allot of praying for my son in Iraq for his safe return as well for all the young men and women over there.

Amen to that Dave.

Myself I am not sure what I will be doing, most likely keeping the roof snow free, looks like a snowy winter this year. May get to tying some flies for fishing but that has not been my thing the last few years. Will be watching NASCAR Starting in Feb. but not as much now that Mark Martin is part time. Keeping warm and ready for spring, sure hope to fish more this coming year then the last two.

I think my Winter outdoor activities will be limited to the
regular one trip a day to the woodpile with the wheelbarrow.
My indoor activities will revolve around the stove, the computer,
and the fly-tying vise. In addition, I have several canvas' laying
around with sketches on them that are waiting for paint to be
applied....And then there is my "when I get around to it list" which
seems endless. Opps, almost forgot about 150 old fishing books
that I downloaded this Fall. I'm beginning to realize now that Winter may not be long enough. Big Grin
