With all this subarctic weather lately I have shifted my focus to tying, I really hate dealing with frozen lines and eyelets.

So who else has shifted to the warm dry tying bench instead of fishing for frozen fish sticks?

So far here is what I have accomplished:

2 doz. #10 brown stoneflys

2 doz. #8 black stoneflys

1.5 doz each hares ear nymphs in #12-16

2 doz #12 red johns

2 doz. each prince nymphs in #12 & 14

1doz. each usuals in #12 & 14

1 doz. each pheasant tail nymphs in #12 & 14

1 doz. each nearly deadlys in #12 & 14

1 doz. each humptys in #14 & 16

Full disclosure, I have been on vacation for two weeks at home by myself.

For a Mayfly ty up some Red Quills, sizes 12 to 16.  Also ty up some Irresistible Adams for the small mountain rivers, size 14 is just right.

See Yah
Thanks

Thanks a lot  Lee!  I hate spinning hair but the Adams Irr. Is a killer fly.

i just tied a couple in size 12, a few more and I will be ready to move down a size or two...at this rate I should have a dozen useable flies by mid-August.

I did quite well using these two flies in tandem all year.  I think all told, I must have caught over 500 fish on just 4 different patterns.  I like keeping it simple.

Is that a humpty with a bead head prince dropper?

I must have caught at least 90% of my fish for the last two years on the WDH, but sometimes that last 10% can be a bit fussy.
