HALCYON "mini" - It certainly is.Wow, what a great little reel. And I do mean little. And that is just what I needed for a 6'6" 2wt. small creek rod I made. The reel is very light yet well made and certainly feels like a reel that could cost you a lot more, very smooth and no excess play. The drag is excellent, from free spooling to a dead stop with about 2.5 turns on the very small knob. My question is why do you even need a drag on a reel this size. This could have been made with a click and pawl which would have made the reel less bulky and even lighter. Well since I had the drag I used it last week when I hooked into a 12 inch brown with 7x tippet, it worked great.
Now the biggest drawback to this reel stems from the same reason I bought it, the size. The reel comes in a box marked 3-4 wt., and let me tell you I don't think you can do it. I have it loaded with Rio Trout LT WF2F, which is 80 ft. long and with no backing I decided to take off another 5 ft. to make it fit better. I don't think many of the Brookies around here are going to run me out.
In the end if you need a small, light reel I would highly recommend it.

At just 2-1/4" diameter, this is the smallest quality reel we have ever found...
Designed to hold a 0, 1 or 2 Wt. line,, it woks great for larger lines as well... it will just hold less backing.  Features a disc drag and literally fits in the palm of your hand!
These are custom done for Stone Creek's soon to be introduced Mini Rod/Reel Combos.  The reel features a mid-arbor and ajustable disc drag.  The reel feet are standard size and will fit normal/standard reel seats.

Color:

Black

Reel Measurements:

Spool diameter - 2.25"

Spool width - .875"

Arbor diameter - 1.25"
Weight - 3.1 oz

Very nice! My Forbes on my 1wt setup is only 2.2oz and will hold a bit more line...then again it is $100 more.
