First I lost my keyboard this morning and had to go get a new one, that is why I have not posted of late. Nate Hill works for North Country Angler in North Conway. I just finished doing a new web site for them, find the link in the right column of the home page. He is a great fisherman and will be using the new site at NCA a lot in the future. As for the fly he has a good technigue and that is a deadly fly for salmon.

Lee I bought a T-Shirt from them when I was in North Conway. I mentioned your name and he mentioned that you were doing some work with a site for them. Think he was a bit older then the guy in the video but I could be wrong. Nice folks I have his card somewhere. As far as the fly it is killer on rainbows here in the Dakotas. Lost all 3 that I had during the swap. Tried to get some from the fly shops in NH and they were out. So I am trying to master the fly so I can continue to have success here this fall.

No offense intended but I do not care for his technique.
I have just finished tying 5 dozen of these flies and have several dozen more to go and I know a better way.
It was taught to me by an oldtimer that learned it from Mr. Lambro himself.
I will do a video some day (a Lee's page exclusive) but basically what I do is:
I add a floss or flash wrap to the hook (just a bit more finished looking, your milage may vary)
tie in the feather with the tip pointed toward the bend of the hook (don't trim it off)
fold over only half the feather and wrap the flat of the quill against the hook.
leave about a 2 thread gap between each wrap.
If you do this correctly then you do not have to stroke the feathers back and none of the feather is wasted.
Tie a few with a red hackle collar, brookies love them.

Pick a size and a color and I will have them. I just ordered 200 lemon wood duck feathers so I will be tying alot more in the near future.
I will be bringing my 1wt so no slinging #6 and #8's for me.
Damn it Keith . My box is empty of them killer flies. Get that video going so I can tie up some of your killer flies.
