It has been a while since I posted anything.   I usually check in a couple of times

each day...

First....

I would like to issue a late welcome to Shaun and John...Pull up a stump and

set close to the fire..We will make sure to make room for you at the pool.

Second...

I have noticed some members preparing their sons for fishing...I was blessed with

two daughters and both liked to fish. My Grandson came to live with when he was

about two years old (not realy part of my rtrement plans at the time) ..He is now 14

and ties a decent fly and casts a nice fly line....It has not been a good start to the

season for us as trout on the Miramichi seen sczrce so far this year...As desperation

is settling in I expect him to hit the trout stream on our woodlot soon....Someone was looking

fo him the other day and my only response was that his feet dried out and he headed back to the river...

He recently passed the Firearm safety and Hunter safety courses with flying colors....Now,

not only the fish have to look out, but the game as well....To cap it off...He is now bigger than I am...so

I almost have to be nice to him...

Third..

This Spring my health has been deteriorating fast...I am unable to walk more than 60 feet wthout resting..

Not out of breath, but hips and legs pain...Wading and casting is difficult....I have no energy to accomplish

anything...I have been taking blood thinners(warfarin) for several years...Of course now it has caused internal

bleeding...And the fluid pills are creating havoc with my kidneys..

Being the eternal optimist  I have decided to restore an old canoe that I have had laying around for years...

Having begun to look it over, i believe it will be a  major effort requiring time and patience.

I am still on top of the ground looking down so I should not complain.

...

Happy Fishing and Tying

Good to hear from you Stephen.  Sorry to hear that your not feeling so well. Sounds like a large undertaking restoring the old canoe but at least is will keep you busy. Now as for getting around sounds like your grandson will be able to toss you over a shoulder to get you where you need to go. So have you loaded up on fiddle heads and smelt ? I think we need to hit the chat room soon. I have been quite busy with the garage . Got it almost all insulated and sheet rocked in . Next will seal the floor and add the tool boxes and benches. Install a propane heater and a TV . Then the wife will be able to live in comfort. Shirr don't tell her I said that. Let me know when we can hook up in the chat room . Again nice hearing from you .

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

Good to hear from you Stephen.  Sounds like your health is a little weak, you have to keep chasing the young girls and it may get better.  With a grandson like you have you should be al set for fishing with him doing most of the work and using your knowledge to keep him informed and learning.  If you and Dave chat see if I am around and invite me in as well.

See Yah
Thanks
Lee
