Nice Lee! They hitting dries?
Wonder if it was the same monster that broke me off on Saturday.
I do like fishing that river.
Once I take a little break from fishing I will have to post up a report/story of our opening day trip; Lee you and Mark have all the pictures from that day so you will have to fill in the blanks there.
On a quick note <thread hijack alert> I nailed a monster brown on my 1wt today, easilly 2.5 lbs, I could not get two hands around him. No I did not have my camera, I was trying out my new minimalist set up for bushwacking.
Look's like your enjoying that retirement Lee. Get them fish warmed up for me. Won't be long now. Can't wait to hit the stream with you and all that want to meet up with us.

There was a great hatch going on while I was there and no rising fish. All my action was on wet flies.

Water temps still a bit cold I bet for the fish to hit dries but I bet not to far away from it turning on
At that beaver damn I fished they were all over dries like peanut butter on jelly but not until I stirred things up! When I observed the pool for a bit I saw no surface action either, I even noticed several bugs landing and skittering around but no action. I tied on a dry never the less and within a few minutes of skittering small #18 EHC along the surface they seemed to turn onto it big time. To the point where it was every cast as soon as it hit the water. Those wild fish must of been hungry.
Drove by the South River Yesterday and it is really getting low, we need rain bad. The level is more like late June not early May.

YES - A mild dance, not one that gives us gully washers.

Hi All
Just a little report from yesterday. Fished the South River again and had a good time. Hooked and landed around 8 fish and easily missed the same number. Had one good brookie break me off witha very vialent strike. All in all a fun afternoon. One picture is all that I got.
