Sorry to hear the fish were not cooperative but at least that you got out to enjoy mother nature. Thanks for the report . T-Bone
You are determined my Friend A point to consider, a fish's metabolism rate at this time of year is all but not. That's why my favorite time to fish trout is about when everybody has given it up because it's too hot. Then, they wipe out a bug and they need another right away just to fill the tank
T bone, the 20" rainbow was caught on newfound or the other secret river? haven't heard yet about fish being caught in newfound this year.
Nic and I got together and did some fishing on the New Found and another river further North yesterday to no avail. We neither hooked nor saw anything. WHich is very sad as the young fella I know who told me to visit was toting great photos of big 20+ inch rainbow trout.
Oh well. After hitting two entirely different rivers I am inclined to think we were at odds with the weather. THe fish had probably already gorged them selves before the "storm." I threw stone flies, pheasant tails, princes, and wooly buggers in different sizes with no success, so my conclusion was that nature was against us.
Better luck next time I guess.
Just thought I'd share that with you all.
Thanks!!!
