Not local, New Mexico from one of my customers. Somebody is gettin into em Big Grin Following is Rob's report and a few pics. Don't anybody get excited about the reel, I'm out of em and can't get any more. Factory bellied up Surprised

From Rob:

"Hey Koda,

Here's a fishing report after I tried out the Fishon reel.

Went up to fish the San Juan River this weekend.  I'd been dying to catch some fish on the new reel so I loaded it on my Winston BIIx.  Had not yet fished since I got it and even though it's meant for my bamboo rod I wanted to see what it did on large fish.  First few Rainbows I caught were average sized stockers in the 12 inch range.  Reel performed flawlessly of course.  After a while I hooked into some larger fish.  Caught one fat 20 incher in the braids using a tan leech with red crystal flash and a red annelid combo.  The tan leeches were the fly of the day!  This larger trout finally gave me something to work with as I dialed down the click & pawl drag knob.  I put the fish on the reel after taking up the slack and dialed the knob to what felt like halfway down.  That was more than enough to slow down his runs.  After that fish I just left the drag set where it was the rest of the trip and it stopped and slowed down every large Rainbow on the river.  Even in the deeper waters of the main channel where they'll take you for a ride.  I told my fishing buddy that I was very impressed with the reel and just ended up using it the whole weekend.  The sound of the clicker was fun too.  People probably thought I had a Hardy or something!  This size reel is just PERFECT for ANY rod I have and it's going to be my go to bamboo reel but I will have no hesitation to use it on my graphite rods for large trout.  I've attached a few pics.  Thanks again for all your help!

Rob"

Don't believe they will Lee. I did contact REC in CT about taking over the line for manufacture. They could have done it, howsomever,  the reels would cost double of a Korean made Hardy! Somehow, I don't see my customers going for that trick Big Grin

Well Keep looking friend because those are some great reels you put out!  It would be a shame to see em disappear.

Nice report . To bad about the reel company going under. To much of that happening as of late.

Corporate greed now stops this country from going forward. China gobbles the weenie, but, they are one of the few that produce products that the average man can afford these days. Sad. Sad indeed.
