Another inventory has come and gone  Several hours counting and many steps that turn itnto miles are behind me. Today is my day off. Friday Oct 5th. Cloudy slight breeze. Temps 33F. Gear loaded up hot brew in my cup. Snacks prepared . I am setting here writing this waiting for one thing . The temps to come up a bit. Just a little . 45 would be nice.  I can't to hit the stream and clear my mind of numbers. Dave V

A beautiful day on the water. After getting past the numbness in my hands and toes I did manage to trick a few fish into taking my fly. The fish were active today .  The water was cold and covered with a small mayfly brown in color . The browns seamed to be keyed on them . The trees are in full color golden yellow. The air was brisk but refreshing a few snow showers kicked in around 3PM . That is when I had my best luck. I know most people will say that spring and summer is their favorite time of year but I have to say this time of year is by far my favorite. Every fish I caught fought with abandonment. Coming clear out of the water. The color on the Bows were just plan beautiful . Cheeks and stripe were bright red the body and spots much more green . The Browns were golden brown and the spots stood out . I didn't land a monster fish today but the beauty of the fish made up for the size. Came home put on the kettle took off my cold clothes and slipped into a warm sweat shirt . Got a little fire going in the wood-stove and now I am kicking back in my recliner . Life is good . Dave V

One of my Browns picture dosent give you the true color .
