Beautiful report Ziggy.
I know most of the spots shown in your pictures. Where on the Ellis did you fish, looks like you went up above the Covered Bridge in Jackson. Past the Golf course and up towards Pinkham Notch, is that correct?? If you go up past the DanaPlace Inn and fish upstream from there you will get into a lot of wild fish, some stockies but most fish will be wild. Thats one of my favorite sections to fish of that river.
We need to plan a day up there and I will show you around, all the roads and small streams to fish. Ziggy you need to get your friend to join the site and add to it.
Thanks for a wonderful report and great pictures.

Yes you are correct. Just a mile or above the Dam is the Covered Bridge into Jackson Village. You must have gone another few miles up river to fish. Go a little further and you come to Dana Place Inn and cross the river, fish upstream from here and the fishing is great. Your only problem up there is you are on the National Forest and need a parking sticker to park in the parking lots the Forest Service maintain. So park before the bridge and you would be OK. River follows the road pretty much for about two to three miles up into the notch.
Later in Aug or Sept we need to do a day up there.

i almost for got to mention and i am upset i didnt take a pic thought of it after the fact . but when we came off river at saco , we had to walk along a trial that brought us to golf course from behind us could hear a golf cart comming and sure enough a guy pulls up with a golf cart converted into a small lunch wagon with big beer for sale signs on it .... ha ha now that doesnt happen everyday when you get off the river ice cold beer delivered stream side LOL .... Kenny can attest to it
That was classic nothing like beers delivered to the rivers edge. Here are a few pics I got
Kenny when I read Ziggy's post this morning I did not relize that you had already signed up. Ziggy is a hoot, fished with him this spring with Keith (Ktbone). Check your PM's, I sent you a message.

Nice story guy's Good report . Great photo's from the two of you. Beer delivery steam side hmm we could be onto something there.
friend and i headed up early this morn to n. Conway area to hit saco, ellis and swift,we arrived the saco just as the sun was over the trees and walked down trail about 1/2 mile to our 1st location it as a beautful morning , we fished a few sections and wasn't long before Kenny yelled fish on nice little rainbow , i fished pockets and runs below him and soon was on my own nice rainbow . we fished hard with many hits and misses and kenny hooked up again and quickly got wraped up under tree and a " float hatch" had hapened LOL, Kennys description of all the floaters that use the river. a women went right under his line between him and the fish an it was gone, we spotted many nice browns crusing but none were interested in what we had to offer ,we decided to go back for a packed lunch that kenny had packed for us was some good sandwhiches turkey and ham with all the fixns, after lunch we decided to go hit a section of the ellis where we picked up some nice little brook trout , spent couple hours, nice little river , was beautiful area. once we left there we went exploring and hit the swift where it dumps into the saco and i was on a fall fish, water was way too warm for trout , walked down to saco and fished it for a little while with no results . decide to try a couple of places in the tamworth area water was too low so we called a night early and headed home , was a great day on new to me water had a blast look forward to some more trips soon, Pittsburg next wednesday til we get sick of it and come home Enjoy the pics.
