Caddis the Ring Necks she is raising and selling the birds to hunting clubs and ranchers. The Jungle Cock she is trying them out to see how they do here in the Dakotas. I mentioned to her about the skins. We will go from there.

This is something I have been wondering about as well.  Realistically there is no reason anyone of us couldn't start a tying feather farm.  Some birds might be a bit more costly to create a warmer climate for, but how much more, and considering the growing price of hackle feathers, I think it could be a very profitable venture if done correctly.

I'm thinking the chemicals used to preserve the hide would likely drive all foreign insects out of the material as well.  You think?

Check the price of a 100 pound bag of feed first. Man has that gone out of sight!

Koda she is growing her own feed. Pheasant hunting here in SD is very big business.  I asked her if she would mind trying to raise some exotics for my fly tying needs. She said sure. So I am going to see how this works out. If all goes well I will expand my services to my buds on Lee's site.

Sounds like she has it covered Dave.  Let's see, Amherst pheasants, golden pheasants, jungle cock, a few peacocks......Yepper, you'll have it made in the shade. Actually, a few drake woodies would just put it over the top Mr. Green
