Good to have you aboard Tom. I'm sure we can help you find some new territories to fish, as we seek them out ourselves.
We enjoy helping people out here, and look foward to your participation in our conversations and stories.

They know who they are As Theron said there are good folk here willing to share the way. You won't find a bad egg among the group. He said it best in another post. just kidding we get along well, share lots of stuff,(pics and viedos) and get information when the chance to do such research arises . i fish a little bit and have a few good areas for trout . just moved to current location but slowly learning the good spots i will figure some good ones out one day soon and should have you along to hook some trout .
Excellent.. A quick update, and typical of my "luck"..
Spent a couple of hours reading through trip reports/articles on here and came to the conclusion that Rocky Branch sounded like a great spot to start with and do some follow-on research, etc. Long story short, after some more research I ended up visiting the AMC online map area and discovered that the southern section of the Rocky Branch trail has been closed since the hurricane last fall. I'll keep an eye out to see if things progress once we get a little deeper into the spring.
Last fall I started having trouble with my shoulder and bought a tenkara rod. I used it exclusively over the winter and have had lots of fun with it. I mostly use it indicator/nymph fishing (far from the traditional tenkara methods) but think it would be a great tool for fishing the White Mountain streams. Since it collapses down on itself and doesn't need a reel, it slips right into one of the side pockets in my backpack.

Hi,
I primarily fly fish for striped bass in the saltwater, but recently have started fly fishing for trout in the fall in Southern New Hampshire. I found the forum while looking for information on fly fishing opportunities in the White Mountains. I did some car camping/hiking last summer and would like to expand my horizons a bit and try some backcountry fishing/backpacking this summer. I've already read some of the articles and reports from the main page and have scribbled out a page of notes for future research.
Thanks,
-- TomS
