In the long run this is good that the Dam comes down. Short term the land owners and others will not realize how helpfull this is. But the removal is going to pay big dividens to the fish and the river. Dams can be good but in most cases they are not good. This is my opinion and it is why Canada has so much good Salmon fishing when the US has none.

Hey I 100.% agree with you on this one. I have to ask something though I have heard through rumors that houses along the river have started to slip into the river . Have you heard anything like that ?
NO I have not and I will look later this morning to see whats happening. I will post if there is any bad news.

I didn't think it was true but you never know. I think people just arent sure of the out come of the removal how it will effect the area. I see it as a good thing all around. . Its going to make for some good fishing in the long run. Better for the towns people once those strippers start going up stream.

Thanks Lee , Looks like mother nature is going to deside this outcome. I/4 inch movement isn't something to worry about is it ?

The One Hundred Year Old Fort Hailfax Dam Comes Down. A good day for the fish, a sad day for me as an old friend comes down. Many of fun times fishing below the dam in Winslow Maine just a stones throw away from where I grew up. Will seam strange as cross over the bridge to go see the folks this summer and seeing the old dam not there. But I guess thats progress now there will be more spawning grown for the sea run fish. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.
