Today got up early noticed the cloud cover got dressed and headed for the pond figuring the trout may be biting , well they did not disapoint many diffrent flags 2 rainbows landed had great 4-5 hours ........

well yesterday i was reluctant to head out ont he ice but really didn't have much to do i met up with donny again this time at island pond in stoddard , he had flags most of the time and caught alot of perch , i had few flags no fish i was using the biggest shinner i could trying fro big bass , none were playing . Donny got one flag we go over he fights it to the hole pretty big bucketmouth comes off , donny dives like superman but misses the fish and it swam away ... other then that nothing doing .... did get to see a nice sunset..

 

 

My cousin sent me this pic. me on the left back in 1981 Ice fishing i was 10 yrs old pretty funny to see .... I am the one drinking the soda LOL..

 

 

It was because to these two guys my uncles Ronnie and Harry that gave me the gift of the outdoors Smile

Thanks Koda i have always liked the old pictures , i am hoping she has a few more i don't have many from that time period....

 

Well back to fishing i went again today had the whole afternoon hit the pond about 11:30 ended up fishing til dark slow bite today had a couple outsmart me with the shallow eggs one flag there and a couple clean offs , i did catch a rainbow but wasn't by flag or by jigging  :wtf: i pulled a rookie and had my line get wrapped around the spool , i alway check my bait every 45 min or so and as i lifted it and noticed it was tangle i felt something tug so i set down tip up and pulled up nice bow about 14" i also got couple more flags and got some slime darts small ones all in all better then sitting in front of this computer all day .....

well theron and i went up to participate in the local derby . we got there saturday to find the place we were gonna fish packed with people we drove out and found a good spot to set up, lol one where no one was fishing and got set up the wind was pretty bad made a good day cold we had absolutly no luck we fished for about 4 hours with out a flag and called it a day we had sunday as well and figured we would try it again earlier on sunday we got up there about 730 it was a ghost town , we went out to a spot i noticed the day before and we got set up we had luck pretty quickly i ice a very small pickerel and then therons turn he got a very nice small mouth bass we hung out and chatted with another group and had no luck after few flags no more fish . we eneded the day around 330 and headed home was great couple of days of fishing .. the fish were not hungry for us oh well after all ITS FISHING ........

The place you are fishing has a variety of fish. The trout seam to be doing ok with them toothy critters in the same waters. Is this a stocked pond Zig ?



Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was
cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time.
On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words,
and some of the words are theirs.

actually dave the place theron and i fished does hold brown trout but we didn't see any . it is stocked along with the pond i have been fishing near the house.

I ve been slacking a bit on reports , just havn't felt the computer thing much latley , weather is getting nicer and been trying to get outside as much as possible. i fished monday and today monday got a couple of rainbows and a nice pickerel . today went down earlier in the morn and had some action between 9-11:30 ended up with a 1st species for me personally threw the ice a pretty big white sucker fought like a 5-6 lb trout was quite exciting . the landed another much smaller one along with a baby pickerel like 8" . all in all good couple of trips, soon it will be all over, this weather will end my season by a month usually like to Ice fish april fools day for my last trip NOT THIS YEAR ......
