Ha dave if i had thought ahead a bit i would have ordered the decal when i got the rod , my mistake otherwise i would have had it on the water , i figured it would take me a couple of weeks to get it right but it was alot easier then anticipated, took me 2 days to wrap the guides and since i redid one that i was unhappy with , now the challenge getting the finish on without the cat playing with it LOL he is very interested in in anything that moves prob gonna have to lock him up for that process

Ah but the next rod you build you will have all your eggs in one basket .  Don't forget to sing your rod before you put the final coat on.

:wtf: Looks like i may be rebuilding my rod ... i just noticed a defect in the blank that i feel will fail under pressure about 4" down from the tip i was looking at it more closley while drying this morning i sent a picture to the co. and awaiting there word on this ... seems like i am going to have to cut the rod i just built 4" on either side of the blemish , to me looks like very small crack in the finish and send it back . to say the least i am very disapointed with this , hopefully they will replace it and i can just rebuild the tip and not have to redo the whole thing . that will mean more cost i wil have to buy new reel seat and handle ... oh well such is life lets hope they back there products ......

Although i am bummed out due to this , i will have a better product in the end cause now i have some expirence and can take what i learned and improve on it .Thumbdown

Ziggy

That sucks moose penis Buddy. They better make good for it with an whole new kit. If they don't, let me know, I'll put the nut cracker to em Big Grin

When you pick up your reel I'll give you a 7 1/2 ft 5 WT (2) pc blank from the Hardy factory. We'll know that one is flawless.

Man that's a bummer with a capital B

Well don't suck the big wazoo.  Sorry to hear that Zig. I can surely understand your frustration.  I hope the company backs its warranty . I am sure they will. Most rod companies these days back their rods. Still what a disappointment for you.
