The best 3 reasons for winter fishing. Hardly nobody around for one . Second the scenery is beautiful. 3rd nice fish will take the fly like in the last video i posted. The only bad part . Its damn cold on the bones
Looks like folks in Maine take part in the winter fest to
Dave,
Thanks for the informative videos. I actually already saw one of them as I was researching. The "arlosflyfishingservices.com" was a good video that I stumbled upon. The other ones are great too as they explain some technique and flies used.
I am going to find an emerger pattern and a get some materials for the griffith's gnat. I am even going to start tying in 22-24, because small seems to be the way to go in the winter from what I have been reading. I'm hoping for next week sometime.
Thanks,
Theron
Theron,
Take a small size 18 dry fly hook and wrap a peacock herl 3 times near the eye. That's it. I've had good luck with it year round when tiny dark colored bugs are coming off the water. I let it float or sink and slowly retrieve it back with a little twitch. There's something about using peacock in flies that fish can't resist.

T-Bone,
I'd like to join you but I'm still recovering from knee surgery and won't be walking till December. I pretty easy to find. I'll get back to you with a PM with directions and a map. I just got an email from work and I have to put out a fire.
