Hi FreddyBeach. Not sure of the extent of your rust problem, and maybe you already have it fixed, however, I have a tool that I cannot live without. A dremol tool.There are so many timy buffering attachments that won't scratch it unlike some emory cloths that can scratch and take off the finish.
I'm no expert, but I think that might work. Mine has a variable speed setting that I would turn way down for best control...
