Lee that section of stream is all natural .They don't stock it . The Rainbow was an old fish . Rough looking anyway . Had most of the right upper jaw missing. It also had a tag in its back that I could not read so i left it . It was over 18 inches . Didn't put up much of a fight . Guess he had bad down that road to many times. So I dragged it in and let it go. Swam back to its holding spot none to wear. The Browns were very strong and gave up a very good fight. Even got to here my drag zing a few times. It was getting hot and I was tired of fighting the wind. Strangest thing happen to me while walking to the truck. I wish i would have thought to take a video. 6 golden eagles circling above me in the up draft . Was very cool to watch .  Them flying in the wind with their wings spread wide. After a bit I started to the truck and 3 of them buzzed me about 5 feet above my head and raced up stream . It was so cool I could have reached them with my rod if I would have stuck it up in the air. Had to be coolest things I have ever witnessed. Almost as good as the time one swooped down and took a very nice fish right in front of me .

Koda,

So you and your buddy were a couple of "Googans". That's pretty cool you hooked up tho! I've only been out once to the blue water for tuna but didn't hook up. We were trolling with sewn on herring. The captain was an idiot and rigged up the bait wrong and they slid up the leaders beyond the hook. We had 800-1000 lb fish breaking all around the boat. We did catch a 14 foot blue shark that day.

In case you other guys don't know what were talking about.

I just thought I'd chime in and let you all know I'm still alive as well.   After taking off opening week I had to do kitchen duty for a while so not much to report.   I did get a kitchen pass for this week so I am heading up to Sebago to troll some flies for salmon.  More of a cigar and scotch kind of trip but occasionally a fish ruins our fun.

I will also try to cast a few in the Presumpscot, just read that they stocked over a hundred 18" plus brookies in the last week or so.

I'll give a proper report on my return, if there is anything to report.

Oh, and Lee, I'm still trying to catch up with my friend.  Every time I stop by his shop he has been out...stay tuned.

If you fish the presumpscot go above the rt 35 bridge, there is a path on the left side as you look upm stream.  Go up till you see the Dam.  You can't fish right under the Dam but the run just above the right angle turn the river makes is a good one to try.  Fish up to the red markers that designate were you can fish to.

Good Luck.

As far as the hats go please keep trying, thanks.

See Yah
Thanks

We were so clueless it was pitiful.  I rigged up a pogie like I would a smelt for lake trout. One tuna thought it was the berries and inhaled it. Big Grin  I think it was just meant to be that day.

The salt is a wicked place.  Once she gets her talons in your soul you are obsessed.  Why would anyone frig around with an 18 inch trout when you could use it for bait for a real fish. Mr. Green

It took me better than 5 years to go back to fresh water fishing after my bout with the ocean. There are days when I ache to go back.

This trip it will be Laphroaig 18 yr old and Ashton VSGs...going large because one of my friends is celebrating his first grandchild.

Koda we will have to get together and do a bit of fishing, sounds like our tackle bags may be similarly equiped.

Koda this is one of the side effects of didmo. Kills allot of insect life.
