I'm with KT, try the quarter stick or even some quick lime if they refuse to do the right thing. 
It does put a damper on C&R, but hey, you offered to let em off easy. If they insist on lock jaw, teach em a lesson 
All good advice but it will have to wait. The group I'm going with decided to wait a couple more weeks. The forcast is calling for 2 inches of snow tonight. Wind gust up to 40mph plus a hard freeze tomorrow night in the low 20's. There will be no bite in those conditions and certainly no dry fishing.
